Hey everyone, here we go. . . . . .
IN OUR WORLD
I am at the end of week three of the 17 city tour that is taking me from Coast to Coast to introduce the Repeatable Successful Acts platform. This week I am in kind of chilly Wisconsin. No snow, but “jacket” weather for sure!
Seems getting caught up when I am actually in the office becomes a real priority with my travel being a weekly reality.
I am so honored to have the continued opportunity to share ideas and strategies.
Many of the ideas I launched early in the year are now become real core strategies for my clients.
I have a series of meetings recently all geared towards 2011 projects.
I am always amazed at the connections that happen on my jammed packed calendar. In a month where I have two open weeks, I get all the requests for time and projects on the two weeks that are already booked!
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I find so much to be grateful for, so many blessings in my life. I am grateful to all of you, who continue to read my articles, attend my programs, apply my strategies and engage in my ideas. THANKS for allowing me to continue in the best job on the planet!
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and may your turkey be juicy, your dressing be savory and may your pumpkin pie find some room in that crowded belly!!!

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
I have recently had the honor of doing a number of magazine interviews thanks to the efforts of my PR guru Darren Horwitz. Many of the sessions involve writers looking for predictions for the 2011 business year. What are the key trends that will impact companies? What will be the key players, technology, and social media? What is the next hot button?
The bottom line is that there will be myriad impact ideas hitting the explosive and volatile business environment, both on the local, national and worldwide stage. Some are easy targets while others are more than somewhat elusive.
I answered a recent request from the Wall Street Journal with a very simple idea. Businesses would be best served by taking a big strategic punch at the things they can control. In a world of lightning fast unpredictability the idea of focusing on simple impact ideas should be enticing.
Think about a couple of simple ideas to include in your 2011 planning.
PLANNING: Hard to believe, but most people don’t know how to plan. Planning is a skill set and involves how you think and filter the decision process. Focus some resources around teaching the proper steps in strong planning.
TRAINING: Focus on training as a fundamental part of your 2011 strategy. By increasing the skill sets of your team, you increase the outcome of their actions.
Two simple ideas to add to your 2011 thinking.
ENTERTAINMENT
MOVIES: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: The Potter movies have all been fantastic and this new one, the darkest of them all, directed by Chris Columbus will be a shining star of a rather disappointing November!
NetFlix Fans: Mystery Science Theater 3000 Vol XIX: If you have never seen MST, I can’t recommend it enough. It is a sarcasm fest where characters are forced to watch a horrifically bad movie and they make smart ass remarks all through the movie. Sounds weird I know, but VERY FUNNY.
TV: With all my travel I am having a hell of a time keeping up with all my shows. Now House always gets watched and this past Monday’s episode with small pox at the center of the plot was DAMN FANTASTIC! I have the following in DVR purgatory – Castle (love this show), NCIS (the best of the crime procedural shows) The Mentalist (love this show), Psych (love this show), Burn Notice (like this show but I am tired of Jesse). Well, that’s the boob tube line up.
BOOKS: A New Kind of Science – Wolfram: A really interesting look at patterns and complexity. It is kind of hard core science, but delivered with a very understandable style
MUSIC: You probably don’t think of me as a fan of musicals and you would be kind of right. BUT and this is a big BUT, there are a couple I love and this is from one of those – WICKED.

WEB SITES: I often use simple sketching when I storyboard an idea. Here is a simple tutorial on getting started.
SOUTH OF NORMAL
Even in tough times the luxury gift market still pushes Christmas presents that make you shake your head.
- Sotheby’s is pushing a 24 carat pink diamond at a special Holiday auction for a mere $37 million. Maybe put it on your Visa Card??
- In Dubai you can book a pre-holiday flight package that includes a gold tattoo – yep, a gold tattoo. They run from about $50 to $5,000. They are exterior skin tattoos that last about a week.
- Senz has now produced the “best” umbrella in the world for less than $80! Seems a small price to pay to get something that is the best in the world.
So if your Holiday list is lacking choices you can go shopping South of Normal and pick up a few things!
