Despite the loss of media love and Wall Streets disappointment Apple has become the most valuable brand on the planet, dethroning the reigning 14 year king of brands Coca Cola. The annual report from Interbrand, which has been compiling data on brand value since 2000, shows Apple has almost $100 billion in its marque products and the recognition of their name. This is up 28% from 2012.
The overthrow of a mega brand like Coca Cola is not really a surprise as Apple was a narrow #2 last year.
For the first time, 5 of the Top 10 global brands are technology companies that include #2, Google.
The iPhone and iPad continue to be top product leaders in their categories, despite the deluge of competitive products.
